The 122mm howitzer M1938 (M-30) was indeed introduced into the Soviet Army fleetingly before World War II to change the obsolescent World War I models. After war the Ml938 became the standard divisional howitzer from the other Warsaw Pact armies. Additionally wound up available to armies in the remainder internationally. The M1938 is set up on a box-section,so1it-trai1 carriage fitted with a shield. The recoil system includes a hydraulic buffer through the entire pipeline, and a hydropneumatic recuperator below it.
