• Hoping to safeguard their 1980 manufacturers name, the Honda team competed in to the 1981 Endurance World Championships using the RS1000. Fitted with an air-cooled 4-cylinder DOHC 999cc engine with the capacity of 150hp, the RS1000 showcased all latest Honda technology that were fine-tuned during their domination of endurance race to the belated 70's. An original aspect of the 1981 bicycle had been specially produced cowling that had been somewhat increased to reduce driver tiredness through the grueling races. Although unsuccessful in protecting their 1980 name, the Honda team could sign up for both prestigious Suzuka 8-Hour endurance Race and the Bol d Or 24 hour battle.
