Entered by Team Honda Racing, the Takata Dome NSX ended up being piloted by Ryo Michigami, commonly considered as Honda's ace driver, and rookie Takashi Kogure through 2005 Super GT period. The team obtained 2nd place at Round 5 Motegi along with their vehicle operating on a naturally-aspirated mid-mounted 3.5 liter V6 engine, but bad luck plagued the team and dashed their high hopes the season.
