Hitting "the Soft Underbelly"
Ahead of the massive intrusion at Normandy, the Allies first set base on European soil in their intrusion of Italy, famously understood by Winston Churchill as area of European countries's "the soft underbelly." Sherman tanks within movie theatre of operations usually had their standard general olive drab paint scheme overlaid with sand to create a two-tone camouflage pattern quite a bit better on Mediterranean environment. This beautifully finished display model features a tank owned by C business of 756th Battalion combat within the Italian front in February of 1944.
