During WWII, Japanese forces developed the Komatsu G40 Bulldozer to aid in airfield construction. It was 1st bulldozer manufactured by japan. 100 and forty-eight G40 bulldozers was indeed built throughout the war. The G40 ended up being given to the north and southern fronts, but because of the war some was able to reach their assigned airfields. Only 1 G40 survived the war, and that can be seen within Komatsu Techo Center in Shizuka, Japan. The Japan community of Mechanical Engineers respected the automobile in 2007 as a Mechanical Engineering Heritage item.
