During WWII, anti-tank rifles were employed by Russian infantry to counter German tanks. One particular rifle was in fact the "ProtivoTankovoye Ruzhyo Degtyaryova" otherwise referred to as "PTRD". The solitary shot PTRD fired a 14.5mm shell and had an efficient range up to 800m. PTRD groups usually hid amongst destroyed buildings waiting to knock down its next target.
