A Long Ranger
Growth of the M107 self-propelled device began in 1956; 5 years later in 1961 it had been formally procured by U.S. forces, plus in 1965 it was tossed into action to the rapidly-escalating conflict in Vietnam. The long-caliber 175mm weapon offered the M107 a then peerless selection of 32km, for that reason was indeed set up on a lightweight open-top hull to allow airlifting.
