This sort of model kit illustrates the F-14A Tomcat variation. The F-14A was indeed the original two-seat, twin-engine, all-weather interceptor fighter variation the U.S. Navy. It first flew on December 21, 1970. As a U.S. Navy fighter it fulfilled the twin functions of long range interceptor and atmosphere superiority fighter, and right after bomber. Deployed from 1974 to 2006, it effortlessly employed a "swing wing", which offered adjustable sweep.
