The former Soviet Union jet bomber, the Ilyushin IL-28, was deployed in 1950 and was in fact later on used by countries concerning the Warsaw Pact. Boasting a 3-ton armament-payload and effective at holding tactical nuclear weapons, the IL-28 saw action in the centre East and Nigeria in belated 1960's.
