The United states Bantam company, Willys Overland, and Ford Motor Co. competed together. Willys model was plumped for, which, after an initial run of 1500 cars, went into mass production at the beginning of 1941 and reached an overall total manufacturing of 640.000 products from which 277.000 pieces had been made by Ford under a licensing agreement.
