Provided for Singapore to simply help deter Japanese advances in your community, the battleship Prince of Wales and battle cruiser Repulse have been symbols of British naval energy. On December 8th, 1941,these two cash vessels, escorted by two E Class destroyers (HMS Electra, HMS Express), one S Class destroyer (HMS Tenedos), as well as the Australian navy destroyer HMAS Vampire, sent from Singapore to hit a Japanese intrusion force. This objective wound up being aborted and the team,minus the detached HMS Tenedos, turned back towards Singapore.
