Throughout the 1989 Geneva engine Show, the 500SL was in fact revealed as Mercedes' top-of-the-line covertible activities car. While quite potent in stock type, AMG took the automobile even further with exclusive corrections like increasing the engine displacement from 5 liters to 6 liters for a 381hp output. Aerodynamic improvements like front bumper, side skirts and back spoiler, and a strengthened suspension system system offered the automobile a customized feel.
