Debuting at the opening round of the 1988 Formula One period, the McLaren Honda MP4/4 dominated throughout for an amazing 15 victories. Although handicapped by 150L gas limitations and paid off boot pressure, the RA 168 V6 twin turbo motor demonstrated excellent gas efficiency and greater power production versus 3.5L naturally-aspirated engines. Chief engineer Steve Nicols designed a tight, streamlined chassis with the capacity of utilizing complete benefit of the effective Honda motor. The dream mixture of Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna took the MP4/4 to an overwhelming triumph within the last 12 months of turbo F1 racing.
